I don’t know how long I have till the internet is down again so I’m gonna make this quick.
The Internet is a big part of what I do to keep up with the world as the biggest central hub of information in the world. Access to the internet allows me to stay on top of things without suddenly having to be put on the spot without necessary knowledge. It means I’ll hopefully be able to watch that Nintendo Direct tomorrow and see what the future holds.
The lack of internet got me thinking about how in an all digital age as some would promote, internet providers are our lifelines. I don’t really like needing a lifeline for anything, judging by the outcry to the initial plans for the Xbox One I don’t think many people do. I’d like to delve more into the subject but then I risk not being able to post period and that just makes me sad.
I’ve decided to give up on Smash 4, it just doesn’t give me what I need in any capacity. Computers cheat and the online is either laggy, full of trashy players who rage quit, total beginners who are no fun to rag on or decent players….the latter being the most unlikely. My Amiibo just waits for me to attack and is perfect at dodging every attack so that isn’t a lot of fun, I don’t have a lot of friends nearby enough to have local matches and anyone who I feasibly could play with I am better by too much of a margin….anybody great at a game among a group of amateurs will know how that feels.
The world might be a little darker without my constant presence as I sit and watch what few shows I stored externally but fear not…I may not actually be that important in the grand scheme of the world. Life goes on whether or not I have internet, I’d like to have some consequence on something but then, well now I have people relying on me….eww. Live long and prosper, I might have a connection back soon…..oh tits it’s gone off again. Oh now it’s back, Virgin Media you are getting on my nerves.
Enjoy the rest of your days, I shall return with great fury and anger at the reliability of the internet providers of the world.
Oh COME ON it’s gone off again, now I wait till I can properly post this. Yeah, an all digital future sounds fun, I get 2MB/s on a fantastic day if I have a connection at all. The future isn’t bright because of the happy happy joy joy, it’s all the people in the streets with pitchforks and torches marching on their providers.
Oh, I also played some Bloodborne with a friend last Friday. It’s nice, no masterpiece but it’ll do.
What do you do when the internet is down? Do you know any horror stories of bad providers? What do you plan to do when the future of gaming is 100GB installs and 10GB patches at internet speeds that just don’t seem to cut it? Thanks for the red and I might see you later.
